dog: a hunting companion or a field trial competitor? Whatever your
needs, we can help.
We breed, raise, and train setters in Zendt Hollow. We also train
all other breeds of bird dogs here at Big Oak Shooting Preserve.
I have 34 years experience training dogs and spent a summer with
Hall of Famer Gerald Tracy.
In today’s world everything is super-sized. This is not the
case at Big Oak Kennel. We raise 1 or 2 litters of top quality English
Setters a year and take a limited string of dogs to train.

Our grounds were made for training bird dogs. They consist of a
mix of open grassy fields, swampy areas, and woods. Pigeons, quail,
and chukar are used in our program. We also travel in search of
woodcock and grouse.
Your dog will receive regular, consistent field work using the latest
in bird dog training technology. While here, your dog will receive
the best in care and attention.
